Aims and Scope

The Journal of Progressive Social Inquiry (JPSI) strives to make the social sciences more thoughtful, socially engaged, and progressive in their work. We think that society cannot be understood by only seeing what is happening around, but rather by curiosity, clarity, creativity, and readiness to challenge assumptions.
We want to establish an environment in which research can address the intricate connections between the individual, the community, the institutions, and the wider social world. We believe in work that is not only an enhancement of academic understanding, but
also relates significantly to the issues and possibilities of daily living.

What We Aim To Achieve
At JPSI, we strive to:
● Stimulate critical and thoughtful questions of social structures and processes.
● Encourage interdisciplinary research that cuts across sociology, political science,
cultural studies, anthropology, economics, and others.
● Encourage research that addresses real-world issues, such as inequality,
governance, identity, justice, and social change.
● Encourage academic diversity through the inclusion of different perspectives of
researchers in different regions, cultures, and academic traditions.
● Maintain high and ethical research standards in publications.
We are also concerned with the research, which is not just descriptive but explanatory,
interpretive, and inspirational.

Scope of the Journal

JPSI is an excellent publication that presents the exploration of social phenomena using different perspectives, approaches, and theoretical perspectives. We accept manuscripts which are within but not restricted to the following areas:

● Social Change and Social Theory.
● Civic Life, Public Policy, and Governance.
● Culture, Identity, and Media
● Internationalization and Social Change.
● Disparity, fairness, and human liberties.
● Community building and social integration.
● Economic behavior and social effect.
● Education, young people, and social mobility.

We also promote research that combines various methods (qualitative, quantitative,
comparative, critical, or interpretive) and provides new knowledge on how societies function
and develop.

Why This Matters
The social world is constantly changing: norms are altered, institutions are developed, and communities reinvent themselves. In this regard, a study should not merely examine what is, but also contemplate what might be. The Journal of Progressive Social Inquiry aims to promote the gaps between thinking and action, which helps to consider the research that can contribute to a better understanding and constructive social interaction.
Theoretical or empirical, traditional or novel, local or global, whether your work is based on inquiry that is meaningful or not, it is part of this.
