Abstract

Although significant progress has been made in the past few years, inclusive education in Azerbaijan continues to face a number of obstacles to its development. Inclusive education involves the integration of children with diverse physical, mental and social needs into the education system. Among the most important developments in this regard are the provision of more inclusive methods in schools; the provision of special training for teachers and the establishment of state programs. Inclusive education also faces many challenges. There are three main reasons for this difficult situation, namely the lack of adequate resources in schools, inadequate teacher training in inclusive education and issues of social acceptance. Moreover, society has yet to fully shape its attitude towards inclusive education, which is an additional obstacle to the provision of education for these children. Increasing and inclusive education will require more awareness-raising activities, more resources for teacher development and additional training. A society that is more open to an inclusive approach will contribute to the successful development of education.
